Boardview HP Compaq CQ43

True, but when connected to the charger, this chip is getting very hot, but protection of the charger is not activated, so it is supplying power to the board.
With boardview it would be easy and more convenient to troubleshoot. I'm noot very skilled at soldering chips, because in my experience, most of the time is some other component such as capacitor shorted.
In this particular case, there are not many labels near this chip. I believe it's step down (buck) converter.

The circled chip in question is TPS51123-your 3/5V regulator. If it is getting hot very likely you have some short on vreg3/vreg5 pins. PIN8/17 are the pins respectively for 3/5V LDO. Now you need to measure resistance on these two pins and report back.Do check kbc for shorting as well.

i hav check the 3v5v is correct value. no short here. but why tps51123 is still heated
