I also have two A300 that turn on when the power button is pressed.
A few seconds later they turn off then turn on and stay on. There is no other activity.
Black screen and no HDD spin.

OE907 or the other one OE128 capacitor i think. i've successfully replaced the OE907 with 4 330uf 2.5v tantalum caps.

Mine are both working now. Originally one had a faulty NEC/TOKIN capacitor. The other had a shorted capacitor on the Vbatt+ rail.
There shouldnt have been anything else wrong. They would turn on and do nothing else.
While having no power applied, I shorted the CMOS battery for less than a second.
I powered it up and pressed the bower button and noticed the response was quicker for on and off.
At this stage I think there was still no video. When I plugged in a HDD while powered, all came to life, HDD LED flashing and video.
I did all this to the other A300 and it came alive also.
I also noticed they are fussy about what combinations and which slot the memory is put into.

The sound quality from the A300s is amazing. It is better than the way some TVs sound.

Hi there !

I have the same problem .power on and off immediately and after 7-8 times the power mains on but no video and no HDD led ...I replaced NEC TOKIN with 4 smd capacitors as standard solution.before the replace the toshiba had restart every one minute.what do you mean Vbatt + rail please?thank you again!
