Type password and then (CTRL-ENTER) 2 times, try 2-3 times each password and if the CTRL-ENTER does not make the password to be accepted just use ENTER during the next tries.
It's very important to start with CTRL-ENTER so the password gets cleared, otherwise if you just use ENTER it will allow to bypass the password but upon reboot the laptop will remain locked.
