The user power cycled during a lenovo firmware flash and I am trying to get it back up and running from the dead.

Try and make another backup,its more reliable to desolder the chip if you have the tools.If you havn`t and you are using a clip make sure it doesn`t wobble about and it makes good contact. Make 2 backups and compare them with a hex editors "File Compare" function, and lookat the files to make sure there`s some code there other than all FF`s.Comment

Yo got me yes I am using a ch341a with a clip. I am able to get it to read but the chip is not listed with the application I'll try pulling it again.Comment

FYI I had to rar the bin file which is 64 kb. since the site would not let me upload a .bin file directly. I can see that there is hex data. My fear is that the ch program is not detecting the proper chip and is pulling less data than it should.Comment

I am still working my around this ch341a I would love to know if you all have a software you recommend to work with other than the ch341 program. I as asprogrammer too.Comment

Try NeoProgrammer from this post,and check if you have 5V on pin 28 ,you can mod it to make it a bit more stable

You MUST:- Provide the full machine model number, serial number (or Service tag, SNID) and the board model number (see https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=88758 ) ,The serial number, make, full model number, motherboard model and revision (except QR codes) must be written/typed at your request as per the rules.
