post merged...next time look for a thread with the name and model, motherboard model of the laptop, and post there, if you can't find it, then make a new thread..

It was in title, serial number isn't needing to be changed, original bios has SSN in hex, you moved my thread to a thread with late 2013 a1502 mine is mid 2015 emc 2835 board id 820-4924 as title suggested.

Friend messed up my laptop motherboard while working on my bench
                by Geeker007
                Hi All,

So my friend was visiting and he wanted to use my solder bench to solder on some WLED circuit board. My laptop was open on the side for RAM upgrade. I know my mistake.

So while soldering he had too much solder on the soldering iron tip and he just shook off the soldering iron on the table itself to remove extra solder on the soldering tip and it landed on the motherboard of laptop. He then out of fear tried to remove it using solder wick and did more damage by removing some components as well. So here I am with weird situation.

                I have not tried putting...

                Hi guys

Its my own fault, I'm just hoping somebody can help and the laptop isn't bricked.

The BIOS chip is a 25rh256cxiq, I read it using neoprogrammer 2.2.0.10 but like a complete idiot didn't search the chip, it was set to the wrong chip, I read the BIOS, unlocked it, flashed the unlocked file and now the laptop is dead, won't even try to power on, only after I'd flashed it I realised the wrong chip was selected.

How stuffed am I? Is there a way to flash a generic Dell Latitude 5420 BIOS so I'm not stuck with a dead paper weight?

                I have another...

Can someone tell me how i can locate and what is the most cheapest way to find this voltage regulator. College student. discovered repairs and fell in love with it. I connected a 12 volt motor to my 5volt usb port and the motherboard stopped working charging no lights nothing. I took it apart, good at doing that bad at putting it back together"joke" sortve.
I attached a picture please if someone can tell me what that part is and how i can get it i have a soldering and air gun. Not in a rush. The reason why i need to change this is because i accidently disconnected the battery while...

Surface Pro 4 - need help with some messed up components
                by Endlessmist
                Hi everyone

Here is the case that i'm trying to solve.

(short intro to explain what happened)

I bought second hand Surface Pro 4 and when I tried to reinstall the Windows it appeared there was the password on UEFI. Seller don't reply anymore. I decided to reflash the UEFI chip to remove the password. So I need to remove the chip from the motherboard first.

I have basic experience of repair tablets and phones, like battery or display change. So i opened the Surface Pro 4 and removed the motherboard successfully.

                (the...
