Exactly. In your case, since you don’t have a single 32mb BIOS chip but 16mb + 8mb, always patch the 8mb one only

Normally I would unlock this myself with the Rex98 Patcher, but with both of these files it says '8FC8 Hex Pattern not Found'.

Can someone please explain what I might be doing wrong, or unlock the files for me? Thanks!
    take a photo pass 8FC8

Some versions of these boards have a split BIOS across UC5/UC6 or solely in UC5. If there is only one chip fitted, then BIOS is solely in that chip.

It's a WSON 8x6 IC, you either remove it with hot air and put in a WSON adaptor or use a POGO style pin clip if you don't want to take it off the board. These are pretty good quality if you want all 4 types.

Hello everyone and I hope you all are doing well. I'm trying to patch my bios on this Dell Latitiude 5500, but I'm having issues with locating the BIOS chip on the motherboard. Is the BIOS chip U5, U6 or something else? I'm currently using a programming and U5 is a thin chip with barley enough surface to grab and I do not have U6. Sorry for sounding off, I'm still getting use to comminating on forums. Thank you!

Hello lovelies, my mistake was that I read the wrong eprom uc6 instead of uc5. now I was able to use and program the patcher successfully. Unfortunately, I don't turn on the laptop anymore. When I press the power button, only the orange led comes up at the front. Does anyone have an idea?

Dell Latitude 5530 BIOS Password Removal Attempted but I Broke the Laptop
    by TopPop
Sorry for the long story. I have a Dell Latitude 5530 (i7) laptop (South Peak 15 MLK MB DDR4 203102-1 FK8VG$JA) with an admin BIOS password that I want to remove. Service Tag: HYKFPT3. Other than that the laptop worked OK.

I found a CH341A Black and went looking for the BIOS chip on the motherboard. After trying to read one chip that was a firmware chip but not the BIOS I think I found the BIOS chip labeled Winbond 25Q256JVEN. Altogether I think I found 4 different firmware chips in the laptop. The BIOS chip is a WSON8 6x8. I used the CH341A, NeoProgrammer, and a cheap pogo pin clip...
