I'm running into the same issue, I'm trying to figure out how to get the download to pop up.
I'll give it a bit more time, perhaps my account is too new

I'm really into hardware hacking, both for profit and fun, well they're one in the same. While this particular post piqued my interest. Don't expect me to be a 1-time poster.

Bro, both do not display LCD.

does the patched with key file work on your PC?
            try another one for testing.
I only made one modification to it, I'm surprised that it doesn't start at all

                        Hello,
I see that autopatcher is told works till gen 8th.
I have p53 (9th generation from what i was told) with supervisor password lock.
I ran the patch with the bios dump and got this:

"Using UEFIReplace to inject 2 DXE drivers...
                        [1/2] BootOption (GUID e0746c42-d3f9-4f8b-b211-1410957b9ff5)
                        [2/2] LenovoTranslateService (GUID 826bcf56-bac4-43f4-8ea1-8cdf0a121abd)

                        Looking for volumes to patch...
                        [1/1] NVRAM_EfiSystemNvDataFvGuid (checksum 2609h):
                        Not found... Skipping.

                        Done.

                        PATCH FILE: W25Q256JV_Lenovo_p50_lock_supervisor_PATCHED.BIN

                        Good luck."

Do i risk bricking the motherboard, did anybody else tried on P53 9th generation?

                        Can somebody please advise?
                        THank you!

If we try with a brand new chip from winbond and write the autopatch file on it and keep the original flash chip untouched, there is still a risk bricking the board?

I do not See any link

hi, after i patched bios its asking about some "Improper use of this UEFI may be dangerous", provide Hardware ID: 2329198078 and asking for key...what does it mean??
                          solved, thanks it works

Thank you very much. A clean 00 solved the problem, there is no password.

I have a Lenovo X270 with a supervisor password that I want to remove.
This is what it looks like before starting:
                              Before starting

                              I bought a CH341A programmer, and I have a soldering iron so I thought I'd give this a try.
The programmer came with a clip that can't be used because of adjacent components, but also a tiny board that you can use to solder the chip directly.
So I unsoldered the Winbond 25Q128FVSQ chip from the motherboard, and soldered it to the tiny board, it looks like this:
                              Programming

Made 2 backups using flashrom, like this:
                              flashrom --programmer ch341a_spi -r backup1.bin
                              This took 2-3 minutes.
                              Then I used the autopatcher.
Then I wrote the patched bios, like this:
                              flashrom --programmer ch341a_spi -w backup1_PATCHED.bin
                              This took 5 minutes.
Then I soldered the chip to the motherboard, but the computer wouldn't turn on anymore.
I pressed the button and waited a couple of second, but nothing.
Does it turn on normally with the patched bios?

I thought I may have soldered it wrong (a short circuit or something), so I proceeded to desolder it, clean the paste and try again.
And unfortunately one of the tracks in the PCB broke (pin 2), as can be seen in this photo:
                              Broken track (pin 2)
Pin 3 has a tiny bit of solder above, but it's ok, please ignore that.
Anyway, I should not have attempted this without a reflow station, soldering paste and heat protective tape.

If only I knew where this track goes, I could possibly rescue it with a cable.
This is a long shot, but does anyone have any idea on how would I fix this?

I feel with you, Pepitoski, the same has happened to me, too - but fortunately not on such a pricey item as in your case. That's why I did not even try to desolder the flash chip, but soldered tiny wirewrap wires to the pins... Anyway, the challenge is now to try to salvage your motherboard. As pin 2 is the DO line, it probably goes directly to the CPU. So my best bet would be to remove the lacquer covering the via that is (or was) connected to pin 2, solder a tiny wire to the via and connect that to pin 2. Actually, before soldering the chip again to the motherboard, I would use wires to connect all pins from the motherboard the the small PCB you got with the programmer, and only solder the chip to the motherboard, once the entire auto-patch procedure has successfully finished (remember that you need to reflash the original BIOS once the patched version has done its job). Good luck!
                            Working...
