    x260 supervisor

    Hello,
Bought a used laptop years ago, cant enable the virtualization on it becuase of supervisor password so here I am.

I couldn't find anything detailed explained for X260, and I'm a total noob.

    1. Where is EEPROM located on the board, do I need to disassemble the whole thing, or is it a case of popping a back cover?

    2. I have the CH341A, I don't have a SOIC8 clip, I have almost f* up another board trying to de-solder the eeprom from it - it wasnt a laptop. So I guess SOIC clip is a must

    3. What when I get to read the EEPROM data ( i have heared it's around 16 mb )
    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...ad.php?t=87588
-Download this, run the scrip on my original dump and flash it on the laptop EEPROM ?
    And it's a job done?

    STEP 8: Restore original BIOS
    - I again reflash the original that I've read off the laptop eeprom?

    Cheers

I tried desoldering chip and soldering in programmer and to my suprise it worked. Laptop is turning on and the password is removed. Before I tried with clip, I checked couple of times if writing was correct and everything was, so I don't know why that happend.Thank you very much for your help.

For search purposes, it is recommended that next time you open a new thread if asking for password, this one is for x260, not x240.
By the way, both the original files are the same, good job on making at least two, they are extremely important.
Thanks you for your reply and forgive me for posting in this thread regarding different laptop model. Unfortunately after fallowing instructions and flashing original bios file laptop doesn't turn on, it just flashes 3 times with power button and backlight keyboard flashes one time. Nothing happens other than that.
