Microsoft Surface Pro 3 UEFI password

• One detail: I remember setting a password and then removing it, or something like that. I did it just for "testing," and after some time, I left the Surface stored for 3 months, which caused the battery to completely drain.
• Another detail is that I searched throughout the BIN code, near "amitsesetup," and in all four occurrences, everything between "amitsesetup.......fNVARm" is set to "00."

Hello everyone . I probably have a stupid question for you but can you tell me where the bios chip is located on the surface pro 3? I see 3 winbond chips. I think it's the one I put in red...can you confirm? Thanks

Hello, I tried to get my surface pro 3 bios password from the flash programming tool dump, I did the xor decrypt and thought I got the right value, but the password doesn't look to work. Maybe someone can share what they think this password is for me to compare my results.

Asking a wired thing will this Bios dump work from dos as the HDD has no windows on it and the Surface Pro 3 will not boot just comes up asking for a password soon as its turned on

I have tried USB boot can not get it to i can see part of the bios it is set to USB- SSD

You will need an SPI bios programmer to make a backup of the bios chip contents. When you have that backup post it here and someone will help.

So there is no other way to do this than pop the glass and use a clip programmer... it can not be done booting from USB with any thing

I have about 15 Surface Por 3 that i got from an Auction and all need doing so thats a lot of glass to take out to do it

Read the first two pages of this thread, you can try to make a backup with flash image tool FIT .
