The DMI information is in the region 1EE000 - 1EE22F, so the length of 230, select this region by left click on mouse and going down, then right click and copy. Now click on the bios extracted from the update and search for the same region in this bios (go directly to 1EE000), select the same region (1EE000 - 1EE22F), right click on the mouse and (paste insert). ready with DMI information. For (key windows) the same procedure but the region is 330250 - 330280 so length 40 ..

    I hope this helps ..

I have this exact model which out of the blue stopped POSTing. And while I'm somewhat tech-savy I had no idea how to debug my sudden-brick.
I (correctly) assumed it was somewhat related to the BIOS-chip and while it was a steep learning curve i was able to dump, insert my keys and reflash a working BIOS - mainly made possible by this thread.
So I wanted to say a big THANK YOU to the gurus! You rock!

I'm totally hooked to the topic now. Out of curiosity I was even able to locate, extract and change the boot logo. This is so awesome.

The whole process of transferring or "replacing the infos" is described at post #29! That's why I said several times - read the post and do it.
    In short:
1.Copy DMI block from the donor bios.
2.Paste the donor DMI block in the bios from the Lenovo site.
3.Edit the serial numbers in the DMI block with yours.
4.Do the same with the Windows key.
    Done.

    The post #29 says:

enter the original bios of the laptop

But as i told you I don't have it. I have also managed to get a donor BIOS from another machine and I know the process explained in that post(already done by me on macbook BIOSes), the problem is that I don't know how to replace the infos I have into the block of the update extracted bios.

I also tried LVAR but the only version I found does not work.
Go back and read post #29 again as I already told you, but this time very carefully.
You don't need any tool, just a simple hex editor.

I hope you learned a lesson from your mistake, next time be sure you have a backup first, and then play with the bios.
Now your option is to take a donor DMI block and edit the information from the stickers on your machine, including the Windows key.
