Asus X550EP IT8572E EC firmware needed + General EC questions

Hello,

i replaced the shorted EC IT8572E of my Asus X550EP motherboard
the new EC rom is blank, and i did not find on the net the EC firemware of that model .

Q1) Can anybody bring me one ? ( i ordred svod programmer to do that )

Q2) i went to the Asus website and i download this update

they mentioned that it supposed to contain an EC Fw update .
So i opened the file with hex editor and removed the bios bloc ( i managed to extract the bios 4Mb bloc by comparing header and footer of my original one )
and i supposed that the rest will be the EC firmeware .
but the result size was only 2048bytes in front of 128kb of the total size of and IT8572E rom .

Anybody know how to extract ec from and asus update file .?

Q3) is EC firemware generic ? ( otherwise can i use EC firmware of another asus computer ?)

A1) I've been try to find on another forums only got 4mb bios dump, seem no one have make backup from ITE chips, probably that because only few technicians whose having SVOD ( similiar programmer)

A2) From official just containing 4098kb file, 2048bytes at beginning have only AMI aptio capsule, the rest is bios uefi. May be after re-flashing with this , automatic share firmware from w25q32 to EC (just guess)

A3) No idea, I doubt all have same configuration


many techs knew SVOD(and invest to have it) the ec dump will shareable on many forums soon

Not really understand what you mean. but A2) meaning just re-flashing w25q32 with 4096kb file ( you could take with hex from 800h till end of file)

note the 2048bytes (2b)file it only AMI aptio capsule, so i think its not ec firmware.
