Hi, yesterday i found some bios for PEW71 on Softpedia, already tried one, but no go, same blue power led for some seconds then shut off - no display at all, i didn't checked converters, no signs of short, i cultivate some chances the BIOS was not the correct one, hope someone have one...thanks.. bye..

Post the laptop serial number and your bios backup, if you made one.

Do you need the SNID code? 04904618216, but is useless in acer website it is not recognized, i have the original dump..

Hannstar manufacture the board ,but the design is by Compal

Compal: found in HP, Dell, Acer, Toshiba, Lenovo… Model number is "LA-xxxxP" (P is optional), the older, the lower the number is. Like LA-4082P from 2007 or LA-E541P from 2017.

OK my board is NEW70 LA-5891P, can i use the same your posted bios?

before asking here i tried extract bios file from official update files archive, the result is the same as this topic, but didn't worked: LINK

your dump file is different from the previous said and from my original one

Its possible you could have a GPU problem.

My damn job robbes me the patience.. on all laptop tests also after the two bios rewrites, i didn t notice there was no ram sticks in it, now i have flashed your suggested bios and with ram and ssd it starts normally with no Op. Sys. on ssd message (formatted by previous user) exept the keyboard that does not work, i noticed in that post there was another firmware file for keyboard, i never knew of such a thing, but now i think the original one on my board doesn t match as version with the actual bios, so i m going to flash the file extracted from official bios update archive again..

update, the flat needed to be inserted under the lever not on top, now works but running a puppy linux on usb key reveals the real issue of the machine, self shut down after very short time, i follow that thread..

thanks to my knowledge the user Bartoloni with its video on YT about a similar pc that made me think, that it is a generalized soldering problem, especially the main chips, cpu/gpu/multifunction chip, every bga, also one ram bank is defective.. indeed i already noticed the typical smell of overheated components also if for short time untill shutdown, pc inserted in a bad environment, maybe damn smokers, signs of typical dirt by sloppy cigarette lover.. needs a lot of restoring work, i think i cannot figure out on this situation.. another lost pc..
