I'm running a Lenovo Ideapad 3 15ALC6 82MF (Brazilian variant) with GLCN68WW bios which is modded with resizable bar DXE driver.
I have bricked my bios before messing with some advanced options, then I managed to fix it with a CH341 programmer; I tried to import DMI info, serial, MTM to the new bios file with a script posted on the forum but it didn't worked and now I'm using the laptop with no serial number basically.

After I recovered it, doing some basic reboots, the bios bricks itself; I have checked for silent bios updates though I don't have Lenovo bloatware installed on my computer, disabled some Microsoft bios related drivers and so on... But it keeps self-bricking. This is the 4th time fixing through programmer and I don't know what I should do. The laptop itself runs fine if I keep it turned on all the time, but it may brick with a random reboot.

    Setup: Lenovo Ideapad 3 15ALC6
    MTM: 82MFS00000
    SN: PE0AECQ7
Current bios file attached (I don't have old/original bios)

Ty very much, my friend! One more question, how shall I proceed to mod 68 version with ReBAR DXE without losing DMI info?
Update it, backup through programmer and add driver with UEFITool?

The update .exe will also update EC firmware, that's the idea, else i would have given you GLCN68WW version
Check EC version on BIOS setup, should be GLEC60WW after updating (if you don't have that version already)
Test the stock BIOS first for few days to see how it behaves

Yes you can do it that way
        DMI is stored at 1000h-2FFFh
Maybe your BIOS mod is the source of the bricking

Sure, I'll take a look into this. My EC is already GLEC60WW. Do you have any idea of why is the bios behaving this way? Everything's running fine, no hangs, freezes or bsods. Just a delayed brick, kind of a time bomb triggering every reboot; and the mod not gave me any signal of messing up the functionality, even when stressing the hardware while playing games.

I have flashed your 51' version now. The system feels more responsive... With less latency. Dunno if placebo. Anyway, I'm thinking of keeping this version instead of updating to 68. Thank you very much again.

Hi guys, My wife's laptop got into the same situation as most of you are describing here:

                        Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15ALC6 type 82KU with SN PF4F7VP3.

Symptoms when you turn it on with the power button:
                        1) The monitor goes black. There seems to have some very slight light, but it's black.
                        2) The LEDs for the following buttons remain on steadily: Esc, Caps Lock, Num Lock, Power.
                        3) If you connect an external monitor via the HDD, it doesn't detect a signal.

Before the problem occurred, automatic updates were performed, but since they were made automatically, my wife does not known what was updated...

I've tried to very long press the power button and also the NOVO button without sucess.
It seems we need to update the BIOS with a certain file in a USB FAT32 drive.

Where can I get the correct file for this laptop? Is it possible to get it from an official source from a lenovo website?
Would this procedure ruin the guarantee, since the laptop still has it?
If I activate the guarantee, do you have any idea: 1) how much time would it take to be fixed? 2) Would her personal data be lost after the procedures to solve the issue?

Thank you for supporting the community

Sometimes you get a BIOS update distributed via Windows Update, and it can fail, many things can go wrong in the process; the laptop was forced to power off, the battery ran out, the BIOS update failed in the middle, etc.

Haven't found a software only method for Crisis BIOS recovery on this model, not even on the Lenovo forums, most people there resorted to flashing the BIOS via a external hardware programmer, since you still have warranty best to take it to authorized Lenovo service center
Cheapest programmer available is the CH341A with additional 1.8V adapter (the BIOS chip is 1.8v, you may damage the BIOS chip or the motherboard if you don't use the 1.8v adapter), you have to backup your existing BIOS as the model/serial number/MTM and Windows key is stored there encrypted; then transfer that data to a clean BIOS with hex editor, then flash the modified file with the programmer

DMI is stored at 1000h-2FFFh on your original BIOS, starts with LENV

If I activate the guarantee, do you have any idea: 1) how much time would it take to be fixed? 2) Would her personal data be lost after the procedures to solve the issue?
                            1) I don't know, maybe 1-2 weeks? 2) They will probably format your SSD for testing, best to ask Lenovo if you can remove the SSD before sending it for warranty repair
You can get a USB M.2 NVMe enclosure and connect the SSD to another PC, you may also need the 48 digit Bitlocker key to decrypt the drive, it should be stored on the MS account linked to the laptop

Or if you don't care about warranty (you still have 13 months), you can try fixing it yourself with a external programmer (you may still need the Bitlocker key)

Well... thank you for your detailed help m1ch43lzm but those procedures are too complex for someone that never did it before and things could easily go wrong.

If there's no other easier method like preparing a crisis USB disk and using it to recovery, unfortunately I will have to take it to the store were I bought it or to try to directly contact Lenovo. Maybe the can manage to fix it without messing with the SSID or maybe they allow me to take it before (I suppose that by default should void the laptop warranty).

Hello, I'm new here, if I try using this in my 15alc6 82MF000ABR it will work? I got the same " It turns on the Capslock, NumLock and ESC, show backlight on the screen." in my case, it didn't restart, turn on the fans and heat a little bit de cpu. My cpu is Ryzen 5 5500U and I got all this errors when triyng to go from 66 to 68.
I already try flashing with another binary, but my programmer clip is too inconsistent and it struggles to write data, so I'm sending it to an technician. I was using ch341 with 1.8v adapter.

I will send it to an technician to dessolder it and program, but I need to have an binary bios file to do that.

thank you, but I can't get another read because it's earased. Is there a chance this bios file or any other would work without proper dmi information? If not, I don't have any hop since my dmi is unreachable. I really messed up that
