Hi, after automatic BIOS update with win11, my camera and keyboard baclight adjust stops working. Looking for previous BIOS version, to use SP programmer and downgrade it. Laptop details : Samsung Galaxy book NP950XDB-KE2UK , SN : 5D9Z9FFT100077A.
Actual BIOS version is : P14RFW.070.240416.SP.
Dump file from chip gigadevice 25R127D with actual BIOS attached. Many thanks !

dragon2224 Thanks for posting this. I can't help you, but you helped me a little. I am working for a local computer repair shop. They gave me a Samsung Galaxy Pro 15.6, NP950XDB-KC3US that will not POST. It powers on, but displays nothing on the screen. It just continues to flash the blue LED on the left side until I force it to power off.

Using my T48 programmer, I was able to dump the Winbond 25Q80DVNIG chip to a 1MB file. However, my T48 and the Xgpro software refuse to recognize the GigaDevice 25R127DSIG chip. I am afraid that chip may be damaged.

Did you remove the GigaDevice chip from the motherboard and insert it into your programmer, or did you use the clip?

    Wish I could help you!

I doubt this will help, but I have uploaded a BIOS dump from a Galaxy Book Pro that does NOT POST. I hope I can get it cleaned one day, but I need to find a dump of a working BIOS for this model. The Venus-15 BIOS dumps may work. I will try them.

The bios I send is based on the bios build code and model code on the server for Samsung's repair technicians. It is a factory bios that follows the monthly version update mode. The original factory bios

I was using ch341a usb programmer, no clip, but unsolder bios chip method. Can I use Venus-15 TGL BIOS on my Galaxy book Laptop ?

Thank you for these files The P12RFW file contains a 16MB P12RFWB.bin file, which looks promising. It just needs to have the model, serial number, and Windows product key copied into it.
The P13RFW may be corrupted. Windows File Explorer could not open it, so I had to use 7-zip. It contains a P13RFW.bin file that is only 10MB in size, and appears to be incomplete.

              Thanks again.

This Venus motherboard has two BIOS chips: a 16MB GigaDevice near the CPU, and a 1MB Winbond near the edge of the laptop. I am not sure where to get the 1MB BIOS, which I believe is for the Embedded Controller (EC).

SMDFlea Thanks for that clean P13 version BIOS. Thank you for copying the serial number and Windows key.

I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I plan to try it soon. I can't use a clip to flash this chip in circuit, so I must desolder it from the board each time.

                    Your NP950XDB_P13RFW ME_Clean.bin contains:
                    P13RFW 068 2024 01 25 SP 950XDB

                    My original NP950XDB-BAD-GD25R127D.BIN contains:
                    P14RFW 070 2024 04 16 SP 950XDB

This is not my laptop, so I can only guess that the update to P14 failed, leaving a corrupted BIOS.

I have heard that Samsung BIOS images can be downloaded from the Microsoft update catalog, but you have to know the GUID to find them.

SMDFlea Your clean P13 BIOS has the same symptoms as the other clean BIOS images I have applied. At this point, I must assume that the board has some other failed component, and the symptoms are not due to a corrupted BIOS. Luckily, I have a replacement motherboard on the way, and it should arrive either today or on Monday.

My NP950XDB-KC3US board does charge the battery from USB-C just fine. However, it will not POST. It just keeps blinking the blue LED continuously until I force power off again. So it seems this board will just be a parts donor.

dragon2224 I hope I have not hijacked your thread with my own problems. I agree that the GigaDevice chip on this board cannot be programmed using a clip. My T48 programmer cannot detect the GigaDevice chip using a clip, but it can detect the smaller Winbond chip using a clip connection. As SMDFlea has said, that smaller Winbond chip is probably for the USB-C or Thunderbolt controller.

post merged..next time look for a thread with the name and model, motherboard model of the laptop, and post there, if you can't find it, then make a new thread..
