    Toshiba Satellite M300 PSMDCL-05Y00D ( MB : DATE1MMB8E0 )

    Hi All,

Do you have a bios file for Toshiba Satellite PSMDCL-05Y00D ( MB : DATE1MMB8E0 )? I've looking around with no luck till now, always get timeout error when download from toshiba web http://toshiba-asia.com/sg/support/d.../details/24807, my situation now is won't display to LCD ( LCD OK I've tested ) but work with ext monitor, measure pin 15,2,4 on LCD socket only get 0v , suspect is EC , Northbridge or VGA Card but before that i want to update bios first ( my opinion ). Any ideas friends....?

    Best Regards

if you have screen with ext. so, that means your bios is working. You should consider checking NB. do a light reflow first. if works reball or change ic with a new one.

Thx before spidey, yes you right. I've updated bios with the latest one but still same, before I go to NB chip. Is there possible EC chip problem ? there is no LCDVCC & DISPON signal on LCD SOCKET (CN5). I've check on pin# 6 (EC_FPBACK#) Hall sensor & Backlight with no output, who is controlled that signal ? NB or EC ? Looking forward for your advise

check the signals ; LCDVCC, VIN,DISPON,LCD_VADJ on CN5.

EC_FPBACK# signal is coming from EC.

if you dont have some of the signals, you can manually add them. get +3v from LCD_VADJ and connect it to DISPON also get +3v for LCDVCC from another supply.
                it should work.

After trying suggestions from spidey, with result just Backlight appears but no image, make me confuse, with curiosity before deciding to reballing, I try to check more thoroughly on flex, and guess what... found 4 wire connection is broken ? From there I've learn to more thoroughly when check Laptop that come from other technician , first come the laptop owner say this laptop been repair by other computer shop with condition no display, dismantle and found flux at everywhere. I guessing this laptop have a lot of problem , whereas it's only flex problem. spend a time for few days , I made mistake from beginning that only check flex from visual, not measure it the wire one by one. Thank's spidey, for your suggestions that solved this case. Great forum to learn

                    PS: Problem Solved

Hello, I recently have serviced a Toshiba Satellite M300 PSMDCL. The problem is it will automatically turn on when I shut down. Also, It won't turn on battery( it seems totally dead). But if I charging it and has battery , it will turn on. And without battery, just charger it won't turn on although the charging light indicator on. So, anyone has idea?

I would like to flash bios first. But I can't download from official website. It seems error.

                        Thanks,
                        Best Regards

                              Hi, degutji,
are you have a bios update in windows platform?

because you give me is .rom file. And its laptop is not totally dead. Or can you teach me how to flash using .rom file?

I search the google. It use the Fn+B key. But, I failed it.

                              Thanks,
                              Best regards

Okay. I have flashed the bios. But it seems the problem is not on the bios.
As I mention it. When i plugged in the charger, it will auto turn on, and I can't shut it down because it will auto turn on. And when I plugged in charger without battery, it won't turn on. Is there any solution?

                                Thanks,
