And I just copied everything in a range from 1000 to 2FF0 from my bios to the virgin bios. The start on my new created bios is just empty FF everywhere is that right?
yes, you can write the bios chip with the newly edited content..I haven't used that program and CH341A..I don't know to tell you anything about it..

well, there's nothing to read there, because it's empty, the bios being virgin...yes, you have to fill that empty space..

How do I add that DMI info and what is this? is it necessary? Here is my bios backup (i have packed two files into the folder on one I just clicked save and on the other i added .bin when i saved it)
try the bios from post #55, there is also the interval where the DMI information is found, use the HxD program (you can find it for free), enter both bios into the program, select the interval in both bios and pass the interval from your bios to the interval from the bios from postl#55 (copy-paste), that's all..

I'm struggling to transfer the DMI data across, have tried a couple of the attached BIN files from this post but no difference.
Could someone kindly provide me an edited file (and ideally the location of the DMI data - I'm reading it's 1000 - 2FFF but not sure if that's accurate for this dump?)

    Thanks in advance

Ok, perfect! I just wanted to make sure it's working for my chip before I buy something. This programmer is fine? https://www.amazon.de/EEPROM-Program...ustomerReviews

And I can basically use any ch341a programmer software right? Or should I use a specific one?

Choose W25Q128FW manually from the chip list

I downloaded multiple programs now but I can't find my chip in any of them. What do I have to select instead now? What could go wrong if I select another chip so read another chip?

use one of these programs.. if you can't find it, get a chip from the database equivalent to what you have in your laptop..
don't forget to make a copy of the original bios before writing with new content..

The back of the motherboard also has some sort of shield on it and I dont really want to unscrew it and take that shield off.

    EDIT:
I removed the board now and also looked on the underside under the shield thingy for possible bios chips but there weren't any chips at all. The only one that looks like it is the one from earlier called "Windbond 74M12JWSIQ 2112"
Winbond 74M12JWSIQ is the bios chip...

    ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ MSI GP75 Leopard MS-17E71 โ€“ No Display, Deep BIOS/EC Troubleshooting
    by macabook
    Hello everyone,

Iโ€™m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, Iโ€™m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Hereโ€™s a full breakdown:
    ๐Ÿงฉ Initial Issue
    • Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
    • External display (HDMI) shows

    Lenovo IdeaPad 330 15-AST 81D6 BIOS Recovery
    by jendkkd jeje
So a couple of years ago i got a bios update through Lenovo Vantage, so i installed it and bricked my whole BIOS, so i couldn't fix it so i put that ideapad in a box, 3 years later i found that one PC and want to recover it to switch from a 2014 hp laptop to this one.

I found a method to recover the BIOS of many lenovo laptops tha consists in pluging in a USB Flash with the BIOS files and power on the laptop with Fn + R keys pressed until fans go loud and start beeping loud, but nothing worked, so i think filename is wrong, i tried naming the bios file as 07WW.BIN, BIOS.BIN, BIOS.fd,...
