And I just copied everything in a range from 1000 to 2FF0 from my bios to the virgin bios. The start (0 - 1000) on my new created bios is just empty FF everywhere is that right?...

ok, I edited that file now and pasted all that unreadable decrypted stuff from my backup to the virgin bios. Now I can upload it to my bios chip right? Do I have to click on that in my asprogrammer?

Ok, so I select the hex values from 00001000 to 0002FF0 (there is no 2FFF) and copy all that in the file from your post#54 (h2cn31ww.rar) even though I can't read anything there right?

I got the programmer and read the bios of my 15-alc05 now. My Bios chip is called "74m12jwsiq" but asprogrammer automatically suggested "W25Q128FW". What do I have to do now? How do I add that DMI info and what is this? is it necessary? Here is my bios backup (i have packed two files into the folder on one I just clicked save and on the other i added .bin when i saved it)...

Ok, perfect! I just wanted to make sure it's working for my chip before I buy something. This programmer is fine? I downloaded multiple programs now but I can't find my chip in any of them. What do I have to select instead now? What could go wrong if I select another chip so read another chip?

Alright thank you very much!!
"get a chip from the database equivalent to what you have in your laptop", so do I have to look for a chip that's available in the software with the same properties as here:

Ok perfect. But I can't find this chip in the software for the spi programmer. This chip isn't listed there. What do to? Or do I have to get another program?...

Ok, so on the front of the mb there is nothing but this one chip that looks like it could be a bios chip. Since this is all over this laptop model, does anyone know where its located? The back of the motherboard also has some sort of shield on it and I dont really want to unscrew it and take that shield off.
EDIT:
I removed the board now and also looked on the underside under the shield thingy for possible bios chips but there weren't any chips at all. The only one that looks like it is the one from earlier called "Windbond 74M12JWSIQ 2112"

Okay, thanks so I'll have to get such a programmer. Is this the bios chip? It says "Windbond 74M12JWSIQ 2112". I don't have that programmer yet but I already downloaded its software. I couldn't find this chip there. Is there another chip on the other side of the board so I have to take the laptop apart? Or is it the right one?

Hello, i'm very new to all this. I also have this laptop "Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15ALC05" wich doesn't boot (screen is black). What do I have to do to flash that bios chip? I don't know anything about all that and would be happy for some information or resources (:
"Winbond 74W12JWSIQ"
is this the bios chip? The 'W' could also be an 'M' I think....
