1st boot, press F2, write service tag, disable Absolute, save, restart. 2nd boot press Alt+F to exit manufacturing mode

Thanks for your help, the power ligh does come on but unfortunately the screen just stays dark.

I did a compare to all 4 dumps and there are very small differences, so it could be that I may have a bad dump backup.

Tomorrow I'll try to erase the chip and try to flash the first dump to see it it boot up.

Thanks for the efforts, looks like there's something wrong with my programmer.
I flash the binaries then read then back and compare the files and it shows differences.

My XMC25QH256CXIQ is not listed in the EZP2023 programmer and it's not able to ID chip correctly when using the 1.8v adapter , so I've used parameters for W25Q256FW (Winbond) to flash the XMC as a wild guess based in one of the previous rooms in this topic.

Looks like I mess it up.

Sorry for the off-topic, but I felt like I should explain myself and give some feedback.
I'm open to suggestions on where to go from here.😅

I am trying to read the BIOS chip installed in a Dell Precision 3571 so I can remove the administrator password. Processor is a 12th gen i7. The service tag ID is 7QV7VL3 (8FC8).

So far, I have not been able to read the chip. I have done this a few times on older 8FC8 BIOS chips and have not had a problem. The BIOS chip is an XMC XM25QH256CXIQ (U2502 marked on the board). I am using a T48 (TL866-3G) programmer and a pogo pin probe for the WSON8 chip. The programmer auto ID is identifying the chip correctly but the ID check comes up FF FF FF. It should be 20 40 19. Pin detect is OK. I tried reading the chip without the ID check and it came up blank. Yes, I did test that the computer was working before I took it apart.

I am trying to avoid removing the chip from the board. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or have clumsily killed the chip.

My questions are:

Could the chip being soldered onto the board be causing a problem reading the chip?

I do not have a BIOS for this computer if the chip is bad, Will a copy of the BIOS from another 3571 work in this one?

The bios chip must be unsoldered from the board before writing or reading..
do not use the clip, you may have errors..if you do not have anything to unsolder it with,
solder wires between the programmer and the bios chip..
