Does the same usb thumb drive work ok in another computer?

Does the camera on this unit work properly?

Do you have a usb keyboard or usb mouse for testing?

What about the camera on this unit? Does it function?

        The camera is usb based.

i just checked it its not responding is saying "the screen resolution is too low for this app to run" I tried to update the drivers but its still giving the same error. and during the update of the drivers it gave an error that the windows os is not able to recognize the usb ports.

            See attached.

There are a number of USB devices on this logic board. From your feedback, none of these devices are working so it is possible that the USB host function inside the Tiger chip is defective. Perhaps due to the lack of ESD protection devices on the logic board.

The USB host function requires a 48 Mhz clock (sometimes 24 Mhz are used). Review if the 48 mhz clock is present and do check if the resistor @ R8057 is present and not defective. Check the resistance across R8057 as well.

Perhaps the 48 mhz clock is absent or is defective and causing this fault.

To check the USB data lines, remove all power, meter in DIODE MODE.

Red meter probe, yes RED to GROUND (shield is ok).
Black meter probe to USBP0+ on the USB connector or wherever you can probe it.

What is the DIODE mode reading?

Then repeat with USBP0- pin. Continue to test the other USB ports as well.

If you have a bad DIODE mode reading then for sure your USB Host interface is damaged inside the TIGER IC.

i manage to troubleshoot the r8057 its okey and I managed to test the diode from the usb they are fine, but am having a challenge finding the tiger ic on the motherboard I tried searching for it using the schematic but I can't find the chip. I don't know if you can highlight it from the images I sent earlier.

What @mon2 means by saying "TIGER IC" is the BGA chip.

download the schematic diagram I sent earlier at the beginning of the chat the is a chip called the tiger ic but am having a challenge locating it on the motherbody. I sent some diagrams of the motherbody of the laptop but finding the chip is difficult cause I can't find the chip but I managed finding the resistor.
