Dell G3 3779 CPU and GPU vcore shorted

    Hello,

    I have water damaged Dell G3 3779.

Things I did. During visual inspection i noticed PL911 filter was blown up and caps around it PC901, PC902 .. all up to PU901 shorted, found culprit shorted cap on top side of board PC905, removed cap and short up to PU901 is gone. Shorted PJP901 to bypass filter for the moment.

problem is CPU and GPU vcore coils are all shorted aswell and I don't know where can I safely inject power to test which component or driver is bad.

    PLA01 20.8 Ohm PLI01 3.8 Ohm, PLI02 3.8 Ohm, PLI03 3.8 Ohm, PLI04 3.8 Ohm
    PLG01 8.3 Ohm

    PLV01 1.1 Ohm, PLV02 1.1, Ohm PLV03 1.1 Ohm

    PCI07 cap is not shorted

What should i do next to narrow down problem or cpu is already dead ?.\
forgot to mention attaching schematic and board view

    Thank you.

I'm afraid with your understanding of shorting, you may damage this mb beyond repair. this is quite expensive motherboard and i'll strongly advise you to take it to some preofessional repair workshop.

    The resistance are all fine.

I second this. Resistance readings on 6th gen and later boards are weird. Especially the big GPUs. GTX1600 series and up, 0.3 ohm on vcore, chip good. Need voltage readings and ohm meter on VRAM and PEX rails to figure out whether you've got a hardware issue, a BIOS issue, a bad chip or need reballing.
