Lenovo Thinkpad L480 shuts down whenever I install an app

    Hello guys

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad L480 laptop that turns off or restart whenever I install an application, this is very strange, the app becomes unusable after shutting down, whenever I try to install an app it does that.

I checked all the mosfets from the cpu , they are all okay under the diode mode, i even removed them from the board one by one and they are all okay, checked the chip that controls those mosfets and it was all okay? , the machine doesn't switch off until you try to install an app or runs an app

And another issue is, if the battery is connected it doesn't turn on at all , it show lights and then turns off with 3 blinks on the power button

Bad battery or bad EC/KBC, mods please remove spam.

I have encountered one of those with weird behaviour whenever the dedicated GPU would kick in and the battery was dead - 0 voltage but disassembly and direct charge on cells got it back online. And the issues went away.

These things rely on the battery a lot. If the battery is removed or damaged or unavailable for any reason, you're going to encounter a bunch of weird issues. Think of them as cellphones with a keyboard and trackpad. No matter if it's plugged in or not, a phone is going to need a somewhat working battery to perform even the most basic of tasks. Same goes for a lot of "modern" laptops.
