In mac osx there is no keyboard no kb backlight or mouse.

But if I boot into usb ubuntu everything works just fine. If I boot into usb installer of diff mac os version it gives the mouse and keyboard sign so I know its not the drive.

I tried the decrypt drive I saw on youtube but that didn't work.

I tested the connector on pin 10 14 and 20 all have normal voltage.
Sort of stumped here.

I will throw out that this board had no screen backlight I replaced q7707 and Driver IC and it is fixed , is there some possibility that it also caused short along lines of keyboard backlight?
The keyboard backlight and the mouse and keyboard all worked when I tested with external monitor before I fixed the screen backlight issue with the same drive i'm using.

Does a PRAM reset work from power up? This is the first thing you should try. If it's working in recovery mode or off a USB installer, you should try a spare SSD and install Big Sur or Monterey and see the result.

You could try reinstalling MAC OS from recovery mode on the customers SSD if that resolves it. However, I don't offer to upgrade a customers MAC OS, since anything beyond Catalina will disable 32 bit apps (such as old versions of Office). So I'd just be reinstalling whatever version they have.

Definitely tried the Pram and SMC reset but nothing changed.....Got ahold of another topcase , it was either the trackpad ,tp cable or the keyboard.
The Mac is fully working .

Its strange it worked with Ubuntu. I'm leaning more to it being the trackpad was bad because the cable was unkinked and perfect? At one point I was able to boot into a older os version via usb and the keyboard lit up but still no mouse , no cap lock .
