    Remove all power.

Meter in resistance mode (2k scale).

Check the resistance to ground of the rail that is 2v7.

    Post your readings.

        Resistance is good.

Trace the rail back to the nearby mosfet and post the markings or a clear picture (preferred).

Remove all power. Meter in resistance mode (2k scale).

Measure the resistance for the mosfet to check if it is damaged:

        source & drain
        source & gate
        gate & drain

        Post the readings.

Already replaced the mosfets, and tested them, they are good !

              Re: Asus X512DK

I've had some issues with this motherboard with corrosion at the top RHS corner near the LCD connector. The area is covered by a piece of foam to deflect air into the lappie. There are some decoupling capacitors under it for the +5V rail which go short. BTW, the two big coils on the extreme RHS are +5V and +3.3V respectively from top down. This is the 2nd time I've had to replace the caps in this area for this customers lappie. Lives near the ocean so air is moist.

I just replaced the cap in question with a 0.1uf as a guess. Seems to work ok. Sorry for the blurriness.

Just a heads up to check under that foam block near the LCD connector if you get one of these in dead. Easy to overlook.
