Component identification. Acer nitro 7 An715

    Hi,

I have received this laptop where the screen had been replaced with the battery still connected.

He said when he plugged in the power supply the orange charge light came on, he pressed the power button and the blue light came on for a second and both blue and orange lights went off

He did this three times and now there is no charge or power light. 19v is going in and 3.3v is present, I've disconnected the screen to make sure this is not causing an issue.

There is a cap shorted near the LCD connector, there is also a 5 pin IC labeled 54B1t - this has two pins grounded and there is another of these near the KBC only the middle pin is grounded.

Could anyone tell me what this is so I can check if it should have 2 pins grounded

    Thanks

Hi. See attached. Believe this is the proper part for your logic board and is silk screened for UX1.

    p/n : SY6288C20AAC

Yup, looks to be the same = JEDP1 is also showing in this schematic. So UX1 should be a match.

      Thanks mon2

I removed the part and cap but short still present at almost 1 ohm

Probing around I noticed 3v is missing from SY8288BRAC so swapped out for a new one. Plugged in charger and battery voltage came back and charge light came on

Pressed power button and charge light went out and 3v is gone again - unplugged then plugged charger in, charge light came back on

Probed around checking voltages and charge light went off and voltages dropped - only 19v present

I will have another look later see what I can find
