    HP Pavilion X360 No Picture

Hi guys I have a 16872-1 448.0C204.0011 Am hoping with your experience you might be able to tell me which IC Controller this might be in the picture below? Reason is I suspect it may be not working/outputting properly because if i heat it up for 15 seconds (already removed with fresh leaded solder) it works and outputs 1.275V to the coil and the labtop posts with Bios no issue. But if i power off the machine and leave it for a few seconds and it get's cold and try to turn it on the labtop will just power cycle 3 times and stay stuck at 0.25 amps after which high fan speed and not Post. And no cpu vcore. If i inject 1.2v on the output coil that is next to the IC the labtop powers on and I get CPU Vcore on the coils closer to the CPU area. I was thinking if it might be the memory controller IC but am not sure. Googled the IC number and no luck. And there is no schematic for this model.Anyone here know what IC it might be or know of another similar board i can look at that has a schematic available so i can ID the Chip and order a new one? Thanks.

You are a life saver as always my friend . Thanks a million for this find.So it is truly the memory controller IC. Unluckily for me i had just recently sold a Lenovo 330s. But i will check a friend of mine to see if he has any donor like it if not i'll order the chip because it is a very good okay ish labtop. If i get tru i will come back here and report back on progress.thx again Mon2

Hi guys I just wanted to report back and let you all know that the problem is fixed by pure luck actually. It was a bad feedback resistor on pin 2 of the G5388K11U memory controller IC. I measured it and noticed it was reading weird high value. So i took it off the board and let it cool down and when i tried to measure it my multimeter probes accidentally flicked it away so i lost it lol...So i measured the 2nd resistor on that line and it measured 10.25k or something so i said to hell with it and got the same resistance value from a macbook donor board and slapped it in.And all problems were gone.Labtop posted to bios everytime. So labtop is fully working now. Thanks a lot mon2 for the partial schematic it helped me a lot and prevented me from giving up too easily.
