Re: Dell E7440 no signs of life

The BEST (QUICK clone) can get hotter upto 550C. Have not validated it but have used the 550C setting often on the heavier ground planes of macbook boards.

Also check around for an underside pre-heater which will be required for the thick PCBs - like the Asus which would not budge the bios IC even @ 550C.

With a pre-heater, it should be possible so you can attack the part from top side and bottom. We recently purchased a HAKKO pre-heater for this purpose.

Dell Vostro 3501 - no signs of life after BIOS read
      by someonenotyou
      Hi.

I have a laptop Dell Vostro 3501 which did not POST. When connected to power supply and turn it on, the keyboard backlight would turn on but nothing else. Sometimes there was 1 BEEP code indicating problems with BIOS.

Then I disassembled it to read the BIOS chips. It had 2 - 64mbit and 128mbit. I connected CH341A (with 3.3v mod) to both of the chips (still soldered on main board) and read them.

After I reassembled laptop back and tried to turn it on. Now there is no sign of life. Not even keyboard backlight.

Then I took the motherboard out...

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
      by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...
