Hello,i'm new to forum.I have asus f556u laptop. its battery not charging.say replace the battery.battery Model no is C21N1509. (7.6v) (38Wh) i want to repair this battery.however i remove battery casing.i saw there are 2 battery cells in battery case.one of cell have 3.8v and other one 3.8v.those cells connecting to the controller circuit.i have extra two 3.8v battery cells.i remove old two cells and connect new two cells to the controller.but voltage did not out from the output pins in controller circuit.i saw a controller chip named BQ30Z55 on battery controller pcb.how can i inset properly new battery cells in to controller circuit

Re: asus f556u laptop. its battery not charging
Can you test with a known good battery?
Is it possible that the logic board has the problem in charging the battery ?
How old was the battery that would not charge ?
In general, not a good idea to repair the battery pack - it is replaced for safety reasons.
It is also very common to have logic board problems that will raise the same issues as yours.

by BowlineMy question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?
Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?
My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell... -
by copeHi everyone,
I have been working on a no power issue with my personal ASUS gaming laptop. It went dead a few months ago.
Some history:
Since then, I've found a blown mosfet on the GPU line which I replaced. It started up without a battery, then when I added the battery back it wouldn't start up again.
As a result, there were some blown components around the BQ chip. (The BQ chip itself - BQ24780S, the low side battery mosfet (shorted), and a resistor -> all replaced)
Now, with a new battery the system will start up and run off... -
Hello everyone
I have been working on this laptop mentioned in the title, it initially had a shorted capacitor. After I replaced it, the thing started working again, but there is still another problem. The laptop was running off a charger, the battery was reporting 96% charge... but when I unplugged the charger, the laptop died. I've measured the battery voltage - 0V. I think it is locked. (Screenshot from batterymon, below).
I've ordered a new 3rd-party battery, but I think there's something wrong with it too - the laptop boots, but the battery isn't charging. Also,... -
Hi all
We have in a HP ProBook 445 G8 laptop with AMD Ryzen 7 CPU. When power is connected the power LED light blinks 5 times then stops. Normally HP laptops will blink this LED 10 times as it does a self test when the AC adaptor is inserted. So there must be some sort of short somewhere.
The battery doesn't charge, and is erratic on the MM voltage. Bench PSU LED pulsates when the battery is connected also. So the fault must be on the charging circuit?
I have gone around the board with a MM and cant find anything
Windows shows the battery fine,... -
by johnbetonHello,
I have an Asus X415EA board that is not charging the battery after some liquid damage. Everything else works, except charging the battery.
So far I measured all the pins on the bq24780s controller with the following result:
1. ACN = 0.0V
2. ACP = 19.02V
3. CMSRC = 18.5V
4. ACDRV = 23.9V
5. ACOK = 5.9V
6. ACDET = 2.57V
7. IADP = 0.17V
8. IDCHG = 0V
9. PMON = ?
10. PROCHOT = 5.05V
11. SDA = 3.3V
12. SCL = 3.3V
13. CMPIN = 0.47V
14. CMPOUT = 6.0V
15. BATPRES = 0.0V
