    DELL INS 3568 (15341-1) missing SIO_SLP_S3#

    Hey,
    Recently I have got this
    Dell Inspiron 3568 i5 7th Gen
    Vegas/Turis SKL/KBL 15341-1 91N85

*Battery is charging and LED is lighting when it's charging
    *5V_S5 and 3D3V_S5 are up
*No short circuit in main power rails
*No short circuit in any coils
*When the adapter/power connected U4001 getting SIO_SLP_S3# and getting down to 0V immediately.
    *Power button switch getting 3.3v
*When the power button is pressed SIO_PWRBTN# signal is not lowered to exactly 0V. ( This cause due to the immediate effect maybe)
    *X1802 Crystal is working
*When the Adapter is plugged in SPI BIOS 7th pin transmits the data and also when the power button is pressed it's trasmitting.

    -----

*I have tried flashing many compatible BIOS but didn't help.
*Check smaller caps and diodes, couldn't find any short circuit.

Inject 3v from dc supply to SIO_SLP_S3# and see what's heating up. Most likely audio IC will heat up.BTW, Did you checked impedance on ram coil?? Is it not shorted??

I was removed PL5101, which is supply 1.2v for DIMMs and PCH, and when the adapter plugged in SIO_SLP_S3# 3.3v present.

Secondary level power rails become active 3D3V_S0 and 5V_S0 also active. The 3-Amber and 5-White error code is also blinking.

I have also checked resistance between the ground and PL5101 DIMM/PCH side, which is 377Ω (when PL5101 is removed).
      After removing PL5101 the RT8231AGQW side 360kΩ

      RT8231AGQW PU5101 (PL5101 removed)

      PGOOD-20mV
      TON-0.75v
      S5-3.3v
      S3-0v
      VLDOIN- 192mV
      VTT & VTTSNS - 0V
      VID- 5.12v
      VDD- 5.12v
3-Amber and 5-White LED error code is also blinking

To make sure again PL5101 soldered and the adapter plugged in again SIO_SLP_S3# just come and go like a blink.

      RT8231AGQW PU5101 (PL5101 solder back)

      PGOOD-5mV
      S5-7mV
      S3-0v
      VLDOIN- 10mV
      VTT & VTTSNS - 0V
(All these above values change into actual values for instance when the adapter is plugged in and back to these values)
      TON-17v
      VID- 5.12v
      VDD- 5.12v

Resistance on ram coil seems fine. So you have missing S3 or PWR_VTT_EN. Check voltage on PR5126/5127 both sides. One of them is not populated but still measure the voltage on track and report back. However, to me it seems your ram controller is bad.Replace it if you have another in hand.

PR5126- Not soldered in this revision
PR5127 - No resister, connected by a pad

I also think this RAM/ PCH regulator is bad. but I couldn't find it here to buy. Sadly there are no equivalent TPS chips too.

          Update:
SM_PGCNTL_R directly coming from PCH which populate PWR_VTT_EN. I am confused why S3 available, when the coil PL5101 removed.

What is the full part number that you are searching for?

Actually, the RT8231AGQW part was ordered. I want to make sure the error si this specific part or elsewhere. When I plugged in the adapter S0 S3levels power rails were getting high and suddenly dropped. Only the 5V_S5 and 3D3V_S5 are up.
When I removed PL5101 RAM/PCH coil S3 power rails are also active. Couldn't find any short circuit symptoms on the coil too. PL5101 and ground 306Ω seems nothing wrong on that line.

                1) What is the voltage value of 3D3V_S0 ?

                2) Confirm that R4005 is present and is still pulled up to 3D3V_S0. The PGOOD signal will very likely be open-drain. For this reason, a pull-up is required for this signal line to function. R4005 appears to be the required pull-up for this line.

                3) Remove all power. Meter in resistance mode.

Check and post the resistance for each mosfet, PU5102 & PU5103:

                a) source & drain

                b) source & gate

                c) gate & drain

                  1) What is the voltage value of 3D3V_S0 ? When I plugged in the adapter is shows 3.21V and instantly decreased to 1.5mV

                  2) Confirm that R4005 is present and is still pulled up to 3D3V_S0.
                  D4002 Cathode (3) RSMRST_PWRGD# = 3.31v
                  R4005 is present = 1K = 0V

                  PU5102:

                  a) source & drain - 21.8kΩ

                  b) source & gate -40mΩ

                  c) gate & drain- 11.70mΩ

                  PU5103:

                  a) source & drain - 335.7Ω

                  b) source & gate - 4.58mΩ

                  c) gate & drain - 4.69mΩ
