    HP laptop 15-ba026ca display issue

Having an issue with the display in 15-ba026ca. The right half of the screen will disappear. If I press on the lower left area of the front bezel I can make the pic come back. I have some folded up paper stuck between the bottom of the screen and the bezel. It keeps pressure in the area where the bad connection is but the picture still messes up from time to time.

At first it seemed that the issue occurred when moving the lid, so I thought it was the cable going from the motherboard to the display, I replaced it, it wasn't the cable.
The display panel has a 30 pin connector and the number on it is NT156WHM-N32. I was wondering if a display with the number NT156WHM-N32 V8.0 is interchangeable? The reason I ask is that I see screen sellers online listing multiple version numbers for sale.

Will any 15.6 HD thin display with 30 pins work in the laptop?

Stick with the same p/n. The v8.0 may not matter but best to ask the reseller. I see the link to the shop in Mississauga as well from my PC. Mention to them that you wish to repair this HP laptop but concerned about compatibility. Also, what is their policy to return it if found to be not compatible.

Do note that the pix appear to be the raw LCD and without the HP housing. Respectively you will have to carefully remove the current panel out of the frame and replace with this one and then apply the front glass. Likely there is some youtube video on this topic.

Was just about to order the correct p/n screen model when a used V8.0 version popped up for sale, dirt cheap. I took a chance and it fits and works perfectly. I guess that answers the question for that one. It originally came out of an Acer. HP used the opposite mounting holes. Other than that, it's identical.
