Hi guys I have a Acer EA53-BM 14222-1 that is not turning on. It has 19V rail present. But no 3v and 5v standby voltage. As soon as i plug my bench Power Supply it draws 0.02 amps for 3 seconds then goes to 0.01 then goes to 0.00 amps.If i put my multimeter probe on the 3V and 5V coils and switch on Power I see 3v comes for 1 second then goes .Same for the 5V. It shows for one second then goes. Not to sure if u guys ever came across this issue and may know what the problem might be .thanks . I checked for short on all pins of the 3v and 5v IC and also charger IC . No apparent short. Only voltage am missing is EN1 and EN2 on the 3v/5v IC TPS51225 .

Re: Acer ES1-512 Not Turning On
3V/5V coming for a second ans goes away-'coz suspend logic is at work here. EN1/EN2 will come after power on only when suspend logic is at work. Your problem may be elsewhere. Have you flashed bios?? If yes, then check the basic requirement of sio chip first.Comment

Toni_comp and mcplslg123 you both are right. I check basic requirement of SIO and found pin 93 to be the power button. And i short that pin directly to ground and machine turn on.Problem solved....Thanks a lot for your help. Appreciated. Thanks for helping me learn new things on these type of boards.Comment

Re: Acer ES1-512 Not Turning On
@Platinumsteel, as per your pm, its turning on but no display. Right?? Make a request in the bios section for a fresh bios and dont forget to upload your original bios dump. Give model number of laptop, mb marking details to avoid getting wrong bios.Comment
