Very strange problem here....
i have pavilion dv6t-3000 problem with the motherboard zone temp:
it reaches 90 degree Celsius
i disassembled and cleaned the fan, also the cpu thermal is ok
the temp of the cpu is 53 degrees, the vga is also 52 degrees, but i am getting a problem, it shutsdown by it self and after powering it up again, i got a message with thermal shutdown error : that the temp reaches 90 degrees.
my bios is the latest one with f.29

check the heatsink temperature by hand, if it is hot in the processor and video chip area, and it is cold in the cooler area change the heatsink.

What is your mb markings?? If it is Quanta LX6, then check PM_THRMTRIP# signal.
