    Help - Compaq presario C700

    I have this old compaq presario which came as dead. I did flash one of the bios present here and the board started turning on.

    However the issue is that it shuts down after 3-5 minutes and does not turn on at all until i apply some dry heat to the IO chip.


    Any help please ? Its kind of urgent.

      Also just to add, the PC shutsdown even when I am on the bios screen. So its not a windows related issue.

          see cold solder at the ends of the chip i / o, or at the ends of the parts around it, if not, changing the chip i / o, may have internal problems...
