Remove all power. Meter in resistance mode.

Can you check with the red meter on one pad & black meter on the next pad near the yellow arrowhead -> what is the resistance ?
I've just done it, and measured zero resistance: the empty pad on the right and the right side of the resistor above, are connected.

Let's move the resistor and see what happens :-)

Haha, while adding the probable place at the photo you both assumed the same thing, here is my drawing:

Unfortunately, after moving the resistor to the empty spot below, the problem still remains.

I wonder if the coils PL1301 and PL1302 have to be removed anyway, in order to complete the transition from discrete graphics to UMA.

Yes of course, you have to cut the power to the graphic chip too.

            Ok, thanks.

This one has to wait for the air gun to come back :-)

              Re: Dell Precision 3520 Troubleshoot

After a while it finally came back, and after removing the two coils, the problem is still there.

And surprise, we have another Precision 3250 that has the same problem: it went down after an USB drive was connected, blown IC w/ burnt electronics smell...

The two cases may be related...
