    Dell Inspiron 5547 (p39f)

Good evening chaps/lasses and thanks for reading.

So the above machine has been the bane of my life, for one reason or another. (it belongs to my teenage daughter)

After several "cosmetic" fixes, that machine now wont turn on. Battery is charged, and does charge.
On powering up, no fan spin (that I can hear) light on front flashes couple times then back on solid (charging) no startup.

I am desperate for her to get back on her own machine so I can have mine back that she is using atm (she is currently in the middle of GCSE (age 16 exams))

I have some limited skills with soldering, but have hot air work station, decent soldering iron, flux solder etc so happy to have a go (as nobody else wiling to touch it as its dell (even though out of warranty)

Has anyone had a similar experience with a similar machine from Dell? I am guessing as its charging the battery it could be fixable with a little work.
I can see no obvious damage to any caps/other items soldered to board.

So any help would be most welcome- Including I guess a board schematic? perhaps if anyone had simialr issues, and idea where to start with diagnosing? (voltmeter at the ready)

Well hoping there is someone to give me some advice, I look forward to tackling this soon

    Many thanks

    (a slightly distraught father)

What's the board part number? Probably Compal LA-B012P but please confirm. If that's the case, schematics here: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...53&postcount=2 .

How did it happen? Liquid damage, drop damage, overheating…?

Tried taking out main battery and coin cell battery already?

thanks for your prompt reply Piernov.
Having seen your reply to several other posts, I know I could not wish for a better person to advise.

I need to dismantle it again to be sure (will have to be tomorrow).
There has not been any fluid spillage. To my daughters credit, it was in standby mode (taken away from her at the time) when she took it back, plugged it in, just would not power up.
I can only assume it could well be overheat- maybe didnt standby properly when lid closed and cooked it slightly when it was stored on a metal shelf?
I have tried the Main battery trick many posted around the forums, but not tried the cmos battery removal- is that really a thing?
Ill have a play and strip it apart tomorrow, try both batteries out and check the board number.
Thanks for your initial input, and hopefully with your help I can get this issue resolved.
