  • Re: Dell Inspiron 5547 (p39f)

thanks for your prompt reply Piernov.
Having seen your reply to several other posts, I know I could not wish for a better person to advise.

I need to dismantle it again to be sure (will have to be tomorrow).
There has not been any fluid spillage. To my daughters credit, it was in standby mode (taken away from her at the time) when she took it back, plugged it in, just would not power up.
I can only assume it could well be overheat- maybe didnt standby properly when lid closed and cooked it slightly when it was stored on...

On powering up, no fan spin (that I can hear) light on front flashes couple times then back on solid (charging) no startup.

I am desperate for her to get back on her own machine so I can have mine back that she is using atm (she is currently in the middle of GCSE (age 16 exams))...

So I recently replaced the whole chasis on this machine (daughter had droped it so many times all screw holding points were pretty much broken)
Then after that fix, she threw a shoe at it in temper (have fixed and replaced the lcd panel (surprisingly easy fix)
But now, the thing wont power up so Ill be posting for some advice (I am guessing...
