Hello,
I have two almost identical computers, unfortunately both with a faulty MXM graphics card. More specifically:
- One doesn't enable the backlight and exhibits artifacts in the form of colored stripes, with the drivers crashing immediately with a BSoD upon loading.
- One was exhibiting very similar if not identical artifacts and then the GPU became fully shorted, right after a reflow attempt.
Since the LA-4982P was also manufactured without the MXM slot (pads unpopulated), I immediately thought about performing a UMA conversion. Unfortunately there...06-09-2025, 01:15 AM -

By mistake I think I made a shortcut via the USB connector and my Hp probook 440 G6 does not startup anymore.
A component on the motherboard DAX8JMB16E0 REVE is fried.
Does anybody know the component number?

I have a dell N5010 which had a bad GPU chip and a UMA conversion was performed.
Initial conversion was done per this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cq8r920tW64
After conversion, laptop boots and display comes on but once windows starts loading, it becomes all fuzzy/dotted. I initially though it could be a driver issue, so I removed the HDD and booted into BIOS settings. Image was not fuzzy but some letter jitters (like dancing dots at the edge of the letters) was visible.... - Loading...
- No more items.
