i took this job because it seemed simple enough and i have the soldering and desoldering gear to accomplish it.
the client gave me his motherboard and a replacement usb jack he had purchased already on ebay. it was supposed to be a simple swap of the usb 3.0 receptacle.
well i got the old one off, and went to put the new one in, when i noticed it wouldnt fit.
the old usb receptacle has 4 pins in the top row and 5 pins in the bottom row.
the new usb receptacle is opposite: 5 pins in the top, and 4 pins in the bottom.
so apparently he ordered the wrong usb port, or they false advertised the wrong usb port.
now im trying to look for the correct port and i cant find it anywhere. even the listing he bought from has disappeared.
can anyone help me find the correct port to buy?
thank you
