    Dell 3520 Inspiron Issues

    Hi All.

    So as many know the Dell Inspiron 3520 (and similars) are fairly crap. (they are actually just crap)

    I have a laptop here that goes on after 3 or 5 times. When its on it works just fine. During the tries, it would power on no beeps, lights come on, HDD spins and then you can hear the HDD power off suddenly(Click - peww) Its like its stuck in a restart cycle.

    Tried it without all the extras that being, without cd-rom, hdd, keyboard, mousepad, all addon boards, no screen, no wifi, no Batt.... Tried other ram.

    Any ideas regarding that. I want to reflow the whole board, esp the cpu since its embedded and the SB/NB. Also will do a rework on the ram slots. But before I try those I wondered if anyone else know about something regarding these laptops...

    On a side note, does anyone know anything about the same dell boards that do/make those poof pooof poof noise/beeps... I have tried everything on those. Any info on those would be nice as well, I have about 6 of those laying around.

    A model of motherboard, or a pic would help,i would go for a PCH reball.

      first of all i would try a fresh bios ... seems for your description , hardware is not starting due to some error found by SIO .
      first flash EC , then post results
