    Acer aspire one battery reset

    Hello,
my acer aspire battery is dead, I tried to replace dead cells, but battery still not works. Is it possible to reset the battery?
In HWInfo battery shows correct voltage, wear level 65 percent and current capacity 0 percent...

    Thanks for any help

Hi, you can reset the battery, you have to give us the numbers on the chips on the board of the battery. Maybe we could find a way to reset the main chip.

The main IC number is: bq 8050
Here is some photos of the board:

Measure the voltage you have at the test point TP126.

I have Acer aspire one D255, on TP126 is 76mV (Measured TP against Ground (negative (-)on battery)).

TP126 was a master reset, but just for the oscillator in the chip. I did not find the datasheets for the chip yet.

I have same problem, no datasheet. So, how can i perfom the reset?
Make short against negative, or positive?
I measured the TP has 4V against positive(+11V) pin of battery.

Maybe it could be reseted only by programming interface...

I saw a video like that or similar, this is a way to program the chip, but I tried to download the software for some time but it was not available.

After the replacement of the battery elements the only way is to reprogramm the chip , you need some hardware but for one battery the costs are too hight.
the standard is "smart battery" an old software is "smart battery workshop" but work only with some chips and you can buy the programmer , see at
                        http://be2works.com/
to have an idea of the time required to obtain results, another problem is to open and close the container well.
Normally this process is performed for many batteries or for study protocol
