Hi I have just installed windows 7 on a advent 5421,I'm trying to seek the vga and other drivers,in the advent website they are only compatible with vista,help anyone ?

Have you tried the Vista drivers ? They should instal for Windows 7.

I've not had much luck with Via and Windows 7 personally.
This page http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/advent/laptop/5421.htm suggests this http://download.gericom.com/NOTEBOOK...si-U50si/Win7/ might be a suitable vga driver
Alternatively you could try and find alternative drivers using the Hardware Id and an internet search.Comment

The gericom one works lovely but comes up after restart a box its run,but doesn't run anything,is that because I haven't downloaded it correctly.Comment

If it didn't download properly it wouldn't have unzipped. Is there anything showing under msconfig ? might be its control software trying to run. See if disabling it makes any difference.Comment
