Toshiba L350 resurrection after somebody burned the chipset

Here's one of the nastier ones. A Toshiba L350D with a NB "reflowed" so far that was black, bloated and completely shorted.

I replaced it with one i pulled from another dead board, that had also been heatgunned () but it measured ok so i went with it. This computer wasn't worthy of a new chip anyway. The result? Unsurprisingly, it runs just fine. I have left it running a youtube loop until tomorrow and we'll see, but i expect it will be still working.

Of course, after i verified that the laptop turned on, i also replaced the Tokin capacitor. Not exactly my cleanest job on that, but hey, if it works...

Nice sharing, there is a lot of work with reballing that Intel chipsets..

This was one of the older models with 0.5mm balls. Fairly easy to do. Laptop did not have any issues overnight and will be sent back to the customer.
