    Pls make this sticky

    OK...

Lots of people are asking for help in this topic...
    And it's a mess...
If you want to do some CHIP COMPONENT LEVEL repairs (or whatever you want to call it) , you need to be organized, have some tools & some knowledge of electronic measuring...

    FIRST THING FIRST:

-When posting a NEW thread,You need to specify a MPN (manufacturer part number) of the motherboard (THIS IS A MUST!!! )
-Attach Schematics or a link (use google or forum search function)
-Describe the MPN & problem in THREAD TITLE
-ALWAYS MEASURE & POST VOLTAGES OF ALL COILS AFTER PRESSING POWER BUTTON (if applicable )
-If your mobo is DEAD, POST RESISTANCE OF ALL THE COILS

    ...THX...

I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE THIS THREAD AS A STICKY....IT'S STILL IN PROGRESS & BUT THERE'S MUST BE SOME RULES...

-=ANY QUERIES YOU DO HAVE...JUST PM ME....DON'T POST IN THIS THREAD PLS!!!=-

      Sent You a PM...
I will try to cover everything I know in this topic...
Including tools, how to check components & also some step by step troubleshooting with pictures...
I'm extremely busy at the moment, so it'll take some time...

Help identifying the function of these two coils - MSI Delta 15 (MS-15CK1)
        by Salvador Pérez
Hello everyone, I'm troubleshooting an MSI Delta 15 (MS-15CK1) motherboard, and I need help identifying the function of the two coils marked in the attached image. The laptop powers on and responds to the keyboard, but the screen does not turn on-neither the LCD nor the backlight. I've checked the main power rails, and all other coils seem to have the expected voltages:

        • 0.91V for the GPU
        • 1.7V for VRAM
        • 3.3V and 5V rails 1.8V for the BIOS
        • 0.9V for the CPU and iGPU 1.2V for the RAM

However, these two coils are not showing any voltage....

NM-D521 rev. 2.0 output voltage on CPU coils seemingly low
        by David Miteff
        Hello, guys!
As the title says - the board is NM-D521, on the input of the CPU coils I read 1.2-1.3V, which should be normal, but on the output I read around 0.6-0.8V. The laptop bootloops with no picture.
As of right now I don't have a thermal camera, so I can't confirm a shorted or partially shorted CPU chip. Do you have any other suggestions as of why the output voltage might drop like that?...

LAPTOP HP 15-DY2059LA / i3-12gen has stability problems in vccpu coils, BUZZING SOUND. ¿Coil whine?
        by valente222
Hello friends, I just received this equipment, it has a strange hum on the board. The computer works fine, outputs an image and starts Windows. But the problem is when charging the battery, a constant loop to charge. In short, it never charges the battery. When the charger is connected, the stability of the CPU is stressed and it seems that the coils make that electrical sound louder. This board is modern and I don't have a schematic. I have checked with a microscope and the pcb is completely new. Has anyone had this happen to them before? defect in driver ic?...

r9 280 no picture and shorts coils
        by ziko07
Hi, I have this graphic card no image, when power on fans spin but I measured and has only +12v from PCI and power 12v both connectors. also +5v linear present, 3v3 from PCI present. MCU is cold, then I I tried measure again and on coils, 1.5V,1v0, 1.8v, on mcu 0.8v all present and mcu slictly warmed up. After that I tried to put on motherboard and still no image, but now also all those voiltages missing again , only +12v present and 5v
Then I measured (see image in red colour) and all those coisl has dead shorts, 0 ohm. I thing when first measuring voltage (I didnt check resistance) was...

iPad Pro 10.5 - Where to find coils
        by struggleIT
I've got an iPad Pro 10.5 (A1709) that will not charge. It pulls .01 amps. I went through the motherboard and found a few loose/missing coils (or what I'm assuming are coils). I have attached pictures of the coils and I'm wondering if anyone knows the exact parts I need and where I can get my hands on them without having to but a whole doner board? Appreciate any help. https://imgur.com/gallery/eWJGloq
