My Toshiba laptop has developed a weird problem with the LCD. I'm not sure what might be the problem, hoping someone here has some idea.
When I turn the laptop on, it turns on normally, everything works, but the LCD shows nothing - no POST or GRUB bootloader. If I turn it on and off enough times sometimes it works normally.
If I let it boot Ubuntu when it's not working at POST, I do actually get an image after Ubuntu loads but its very low resolution, doesn't fill the screen, looks interlaced, and the image actually lags and drops frames.
The weirdest part is that the IGP seems OK because if I plug in a monitor to the external VGA connector it works fine.
I tried to capture the effect with photos but it was not easy, so I have made a short video. The lag effect is most obvious near the end when I am moving the cursor around: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ar4oDxeCQXg
Also, if anyone can find me a schematic for this thing, that would be great, the only place I've managed to find is *************** and who knows if they actually have them?
