Lenovo Yoga C740-15IML 5V on usb meter.

Hello. So I searched and didn't find any posts on this specific problem.

When plugged in USB power meter reads 5v
Doesn't charge battery. I can charge the battery with power supply. So it seems the battery works fine. Laptop started but didn't post on battery.

Original mobo had a shorted cpu it seems.

So I decided I need a new motherboard.
Put the new one in the computer. Connect the battery, I think it starts, don't quite remember, but when I plug the adapter/charger.

5v on the meter. Still won't charge. Can still charge the battery manually.
Everything on the laptop works a ok but won't charge.

Seller on eBay is wanting me to take it too a repair shop to get a quote on fixing it. I'm not sure what to do, I ordered a working board, I didn't get a working board. He says it was all tested working normal before sending out.

    Sorry about the long post.
I will probably take it too the shop and see if they'll even try, An go from there.

    Tldr:

Two boards both 5v on the meter
    Old board dead
New board supposed to be working but also doesn't charge battery due to 5v on usb c?

What do you guys think the problem is? Bad pd controller? What are the first steps to diagnosing this. Thank you.

Return the lemon but initiate the return through the eBay portal only. The transaction must be logged by the eBay protection policy and not friendly chats from the vendor who is not to be trusted. Often eBay will refund the purchase price and let you keep the item.

Thanks for the reply. I was leaning towards that but the seller had me questioning if it could be my battery or something. I think I will open a return. I just don't want to be stuck paying return shipping or some nonsense.

EBay will force the vendor to pay for shipping unless the item was sold without a warranty and ‘as-is’ condition.
