    This is normal behaviour of the battery mosfet.

    Connect the battery and power adapter. Measure the voltage to ground on each pin of the battery connector. We are testing the SMBUS interface voltages.

      Man, I can't wait to have as much experience as you. battery and charger connected, 12v on the battery terminals.

        I think there is more ROI in opening an only fans website.

        Does your battery offer more connections or only the power (+) and ground? There should be more contacts on the battery pack. 2 of them = i2c / smbus = SCL / SDA lines. We need to measure these as well.

        Post a pic of your battery connector.

            So the 3 x RED - hot; black = ground.

            We are also interested in the voltage to ground of the other rainbow colored wires in the middle area. 2 of them are for sure the SMBUS / I2C lines of interest. Mate this connector to the board and measure their voltage to ground for each.

              It's actually 2x red. Then an orange, but that one looks red in the picture.
              Orange=.05v
              Yellow=.15v
              Green & Blue=3.3v

                Go back to PQB4 as suggested by SMDFlea.

                Remove all power. Meter in resistance mode.

                Measure the resistance across this mosfet:

                source (1-2-3) & drain (5-6-7-8)
                source (1-2-3) & gate (4)
                gate (4) & drain (5-6-7-8)

                Post each measurement. The mosfet can be defective yet pass through the voltage onto the rail through the internal diode.

                When you attach both the power adapter & battery - what is the voltage to ground of the gate pins on PQB3 & PQB4. For this case, you should have ~25v on the gate pins.
