ACER Spin 5 SP514-51N after usb-c controller ic change no reaction to charger - must it be programmed first?

Hello.
Have this ACER Spin 5 SP514-51N that have only 5V on usb-c charging ports and usb-c comtroller CYPD5225-96BZXI heats up. so i order new controller and replace it. now u have no reaction to charger. must be this ic programmed first and if yes than how

You need the MiniProg3 - CY8CKIT-002 (possibly MiniProg4 will work too) and the PSoC programmer from Cypress. Then you have basically two options.

a) Have a exact same spare board where you extract the firmware from to program it into the replacement.

b) Programm "sample firmware" into the PD-Controller from the EZ-PD Host SDK Kit which is supplied from Cypress too, in the hope you can update it later with files from the laptop manufacturer.
