    Chromebook C523N doesn't charge

    Hi
Chromebook received as not charging, battery 0v.
    Motherboard C223NA
PS8751B was faulty so replaced but still not charging.
RT6258BGQUF (PL8704) getting hot, on 5th pin there is 8.8V but shouldn't be 3v or 5v?, that going on line PPVAR_SYS from T650944 (PU8001) so does it mean T650944 is faulty or could be other reason of that high voltage?
    Best Regards

Please stop talking in puzzles or share pictures please. Nobody can know anything about the purpose of the Mosfet you have replaced. It is not even mentioned in the schematics

However, Pin 5 of RT6258B is VIN, so it receives power from the main power rail at this pin. Also it doesn't create any 5V power rail at all.

So you are currently completely on the wrong path with your conclusions. Do yourself a favor and share useful informations instead.

Now to the RT6258B: A 3V Controller getting hot is usually caused by a short circuit at VIN (which we have excluded right now) or by a (partial) short at the 3V LDO Pins. This means a way more suitable approach here would be to take resistance measurements of all pins around the IC and look for something outstanding.
