Alienware M17 R5 AMD DEAD ISH BIOS

Hi all! Been a long time lurker here! Hopefully I can get some assistance / guidance for this issue I'm stuck with.

Have a (DELL) Alienware M17 R5 (ST: 4LN41Z3) that windows started a bios upgrade and never completed!
It went through the restart then black screen. power button then blinks 3,6 - "System BIOS Flash incomplete" is what the service manual / support shows.
basically it killed it and attempts to use the "dell reflash procedures do get a Alienware logo flash but then hangs.

I purchased a few programmers from the listed suggestions from here but can't make heads or tails to get things going.
Fast learner here; need a bit of an assist here please.

found multiple "clean bios copies" but unable to
    1. find schematic for board and program to open it to find location of the actual chip.
    2. get further down the list of reading/ cleaning/ reflashing.

Hopefully if my rambling is coherent enough to be deciphered this may get me somewhere.
ANY and all assistance is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

i would say, let's start with clear pictures of the Motherboard. Both sides. Can't be that hard to find the main SPI flash.

      Thanks for quick reply.
I'll look into some time today 4/21 to pull the MB out for pics.

Thinkpad t480s, completely dead after BIOS flash using CH341A programmer
          by what_1282105
Following this guide (https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/co...g_and_flashing) i re-flashed my t480s BIOS using an external (CH341A) programmer. The flash didnt work, so i reverted back to my BIOS backup successfully. The BIOS in the chip and the BIOS backup file are identical according to windows' file compare. The revert, however, didnt work: the only thing the computer does is flash the power button 3 times when AC power is connected. I've tried unplugging the CMOS battery, holding the reset button and holding down the power button- no signs of life....

Alienware Aurora R15 accidentally flashed with XPS 8960 BIOS
          by drux
          Hi,
I've had an ssd that was previously used on dell xps 8960 and then it was installed in Alienware Aurora R15(intel version). On first windows boot in R15 windows started bios update and loaded bios for xps 8960(r15 and xps8960 essentially have same motherboards).

Now it has xps 8960 bios that looks different from alienware bios and when I'm trying to run bios update files for R15, I get unsupported platform error.

          These models have AMI/Aptio BIOS.

Tried to edit product info with DMI Edit to change values back to Alienware R15, but it does not want...

How do I flash bios to an Alienware M16 R1 AMD edition?
          by Arc717
I am trying to downgrade my bios on my Alienware so I can undervolt & overclock my CPU, and overclock my ram. I need to get to bios 1.2.2 for this. Dell doesn't allow downgrades, and their bios file is an exe compiled in c++, so I can't decompile it easily. I am wondering if I can flash the bios manually using a usb flasher. I would like to know if this is possible, and if so, where the bios chip would be. I know flashers are pretty cheap and the bios chip is 8-pin. There are two of these chips only when I open the back panel of the laptop. I'm not sure if there are any on the other side of...

Help Disabling Flash Protection Range Registers on Lenovo P360 Tiny BIOS
          by abhorsen
          Hey guys,

Hope you all are doing well. I come here from Win-Raid because I am having issues disabling Flash Protection Range Registers so I can flash my BIOS from within Windows using Intel's IFW tool/using flashrom within Linux, however I cannot due to the above mentioned error.

Here is my thread on Win-Raid detailing the whole process I went through: https://winraid.level1techs.com/t/re...h-gen/95478/27

Essentially I managed to boot into Windows while shorting PINs 1+5 of my audio chip to disable the HAP bit...
