Laptop powers on using charger only i tried replacing the battery but it doesnt power on with battery plugged, though the amber light charging indicator lights up.

Check résistance on power mofset in both way:
(Without power Of course!)

Source <> drain
source <> gate
Drain <> gate

and report your values.

1st mosfet

Source <> drain = the resistance just increases in megaohms range
source <> gate = 0 ohms
Drain <> gate = the resistance just increases in megaohms range

2nd mosfet

Source <> drain = the resistance just increases in megaohms range
source <> gate = 4.96 Mega ohms
Drain <> gate = 0.4 ohms

Ok, you have a problem with one mofset or both entry mofset. (First mofsets Gate are connected together so if one mofset fail, reading on other mofset Will be Bad too.)
Remove 2nd mofset and try to read drain<>gate résistance ditectly on the mofset and on the motherboard.
If still low on the motherboard and high on mofset remove other mofset and Check again. (And Check first mofset directly like you do for the 2nd)

And tell us what you find please.
