Hey Guys I've been working on this this Dell XPS 9570 for a good while now but I believe that the PCH is dead. I didn't wanna really jump the gun and just buy one immediately so I thought I would be reach out and see what the community on Bad Caps thinks of it. I bought this laptop broken in the hopes of repairing it but when I opened it up it was worse that I had initially imagined. There we're 3 mosfets in the front of the board that we're damaged as well as one more on the back that had blown up and damaged multiple layer of the board. And to add insult to injury the ISL chip next to it had also gone bad and blown up damaging multiple traces. I did my best in repairing all of this damage which now gets me to the point where I'm at now. The laptop has no signs of light when plugged in with the barrel jack with only the PCH getting slightly warm to the touch and a few voltages being present and when using the USB C port to charge it same thing happens but I can get a reading with a USB C meter which says .03 amps are being drawn.Any insight would be much appreciated I'll attach Coil readings and a few small notes. Many thanks for reading have a great day

To me,the PCH doesnt seems shorted at 53 ohms. May be the board is getting partially turned on and thats why the PCH is heating up a bit.
You need to probe right from scratch to check the power sequence.
The burnt IC was responsible for PCH power? What is the marking of burnt IC?
Gfxcore at 1.7 ohms is a cause of concern and may indicate a damaged igpu of SOC.Last edited by mcplslg123; 12-27-2024, 11:20 PM.
